It's like everytime I started going downstream a big monster pops out of the water and makes me go the other way! For example I feel good about money and my car breaks down.

I want to start my own business but I am not good at anything that anyone would pay for, and I am a horrible salesperson to sell anyone else's stuff. I see people living their passion and making a great living and the only thing I am that passionate about is my boyfriend.

Are there any Abe processes to deal with any of this that you found helpful? I do a lot of negative selftalk but its so hard to tell myself I have money when I sit in a freezing room because I don't want to put the heat on. I feel stupid trying to tell myself a new story about my health when I'm doubled over in pain. But I know others have done it, appreciate any suggestions thanks.

I'm probably the last person who needs to reply, just based on what has happened to me today....but maybe this will help me feel better too.

I used to have a hard time with money. I used get some and then something would come up and I'd have to spend it. Guess what. It still happens. and it will over and over. Thats the flow. Just change the way you look at that. Be happy you have the money to take car of your car. Know that more is coming.Tell yourself that. Turn the heat on for God's sake. You will have the money to pay the bill. Conserve on other things if you must.

I never really got into the processes, except for one. Rampages of appreciation - someone will probably correct me that thats not the correct name of the process. Its the easiest one for me. Start by saying what you appreciate about where you are now. I used to have a job where the only thing good about it was the free coffee and air conditioning. Then I found other things that I liked. Then as the days past, I had a whole list.

Don't beat yourself up! You're good at something. what is it? You'll find out when you stop the negative talk. Its a bad habit. I'm guilty of it too, sometimes. I've learned to let myself be sad - have my unhappy hour and then move on. I don't let myself stay there long.

wow I feel a litle better already. Thank you.
Much love to you.

Great response LIsa !!!!!

DEar Marzipan...
We all like different ones..and what works for one may not be the best for others..
you have to find what works FOR YOU=SPECIAL YOU!!!!!!

It is a daily process or a minute to minute process...We work it daily..it is easy some days and harder others....I just keep at it..
putting one step in front of the other...
I too like the appreciations..I do 10 before I drift off to sleep..(makes it easier to sleep with peace and joy ) and allows me to wake up with more possibilities for joy...:-)
Turn your eyes to womthing that brings you joy or a laugh=a fower, pet the cat, hug your boyfriend, watch a comedy...enjoy the feel of the sun on your skin etc:heart::grin::heart:
and WELCOME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:joylick::grin::joylick:

Your use of the word monster is very revealing. Because a monster only has its power if you are afraid of it. It is when you are afraid of something that you think it is important, real, deserving of your attention. I see your use of the word reveals this experience you're having has been built-up a lot by your imagination, by your attention to it.

So for example: if you were wealthy, when the car broke down, you would say, "better take it to the mechanic". But you wouldn't spend your day fuming about it. It wouldn't have any power over you. And you wouldn't use it as a reason to justify your current financial situation.

I want to start my own business but I am not good at anything that anyone would pay for, and I am a horrible salesperson to sell anyone else's stuff. I see people living their passion and making a great living and the only thing I am that passionate about is my boyfriend.

What do you do with all your free time?

... but its so hard to tell myself I have money when I sit in a freezing room because I don't want to put the heat on. I feel stupid trying to tell myself a new story about my health when I'm doubled over in pain.

1. Process: focus wheel. Note: it's only hard when you start. Because after spending so much time dwelling in the darkness, it feels comfortable to stay there. But just because it is comfortable, doesn't mean it is good. When you start to deliberately focus, it feels difficult. But after a few thoughts, the energy will pull you forward, and it becomes easy. You just have to get the ball rolling, and then the good thoughts will be attracted to you naturally.

2: Pain: try some Vitamin D. It might help your chronic pain.

Not much to say about me, stressed by day, when I get home want to relax and never feel relaxed, haha. Trying to move downstream without fearing every ripple in the water is a challenge and an exhausting one sometimes, if you can believe it I'm better than I used to be! I'm very glad I can look around and soak up the atmosphere here.

What do you want to be good at?

I think that question is lame. It suggests one has to be good at something. But satisfaction is something that happens, like breath, and need not be forced.

I give you some `brownie` points for encouraging one to focus on what is wanted. There is value in looking at what is wanted. But at times that is asking too much. At times what is needed is simply recognition -- awareness in the moment -- of how one feels.
