I just finished watching season 4. I'm caught up-to-date now on the series. I think Season 4 was one of the best. The theme of season 4 was very similar to abetalk.

There was a traveling carnival that was recruiting all the people with "special abilities". They wanted to form a strong family. A place where all the ones with gifts could feel that they belong. To live in peace, harmony, and love. But then [spoiler alert] the leader turned into a power-hungry beast and destroyed everything. As he became thirsty for power, his driving motive became desperation and anger, he lost track of the love with which the community was established.

At the end of season 4, the leader was dethroned, and the family was split up to go separate ways. It had lost many of the founding members behind exchanges of power. An idea the series leaves us with is the question -- How long will we be hiding for? We sought to form a family, a place separate from the world, where we could come to feel like we belong. But we did so out of fear, afraid that the rest of the world would not have a place for us and our gifts. We hid from the world, we lived in isolation.

Season 5 is called "a brave new world", and starts with one of the heroes exposing their special ability to cameras of the national media. She does so with the mindset that the time for hiding is over. The truth must be revealed. We must stop hiding, afraid of what others might think of us. We are part of the world, and should feel free to live openly amongst all others. Basking in our true glory.

I WILL be travelling up the Dalton Highway this summer all the way to Deadhorse.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalton_Highway

"The James W. Dalton Highway, usually Dalton Highway (Alaska Route 11) is a 666 km road in Alaska."

You figure that after having already built 666km, they could build the extra one kilometer to remove the satanic association.

I never said I watch TV. In the US, you can watch most of the good TV shows on hulu.com. In Canada we don't have hulu, so we just do whatever it takes to keep The Pirates at Bay.

I watched the Olympics this year on the internet too. CTV Canada was streaming the Olympics through their website. It was the same thing they were streaming on TV, but with about three seconds of delay. They had way too many commercials though. Every five minutes they would interrupt the Olympics to bore us with repetitive commercials. I'll never watch the Olympics again. If they're going to have that many commercials, it's not worth it.

yep, all the med commercials...cracks me up the disclaimer at the end...this long scrolling list of danger things...why not just say might cause croaking :facelol:

Croaking is fast, painless, easy. But surviving in pain, suffering -- now that's something worth fearing. "This drug may cause chronic suffering." Let's hear them say that on the ads, lol.
