This is a quote from Bashar about using negative beliefs as fuel to propel us forward,
I can sense there is massive value in it, I am wanting to understand this more clearly.
Your take?
----------------------
Do not leave yourself behind. But if you do and have reasons for doing so - use those reasons. Dive into them. For anytime you use a reason for staying behind to maximum positive effect, you will convert that reason into energy that will propel you forward and bring you closer to the leading edge.
Your beliefs are your fuel, convert them to energy.

I was watching that video and was also wondering about it.
I have arrived to a conclusion basing it on a recent personal experience. I think what he means is, if you can't find a better thought or distract yourself from what is, and are feeling negative emotion, then just immerse yourself in the emotion totally, dive into it and feel it completely, for it is energy, the same beautiful energy that we're made of.
When you really feel it for what it is and let it run its course, knowing that it is a beautiful thing, and at the same time analyzing your beliefs and what brought you to this moment, you can then let it go, tell yourself that you appreciate the emotion for it's telling you that you are not in congruence with what you now know to be true... and amazingly, if you let it run its course appreciating it... it subsides and you feel absolutely wonderful afterwards.... it has propelled you forwardsssss
YAYYYYY
I would love to hear others take on this. :winking:

I just want to add that by appreciating the negative emotion, you turn it into positive and give it even more strength, which in turn, propels you even faster to a high vibration than just working it step by step.
You actually ride on the crest of the wave.... like Bashar states!!!
Just my two cents

I love your explanation Martika. I have noticed too that when I feel negative emotion around something and try to avoid it by focusing on something positive it just gets bigger and bigger until I finally have dive into it and experience it and then use it to carry me forward, i.e. move up the scale. I had this experience with some feelings of anger around someone. I worked on focusing on the good and wouldn't pay attention to the bad stuff, it worked for a while and I was feeling pretty good and then one day I just had a huge block of negative energy. Intellectually I was happy but my body was feeling something else and my eyes were tearing up and before I knew it I was crying uncontrollably, I couldn't fight it or hold it back so just I went with it. I cried and cried and the next day I moved to rage and hatred and it felt so good to feel that and the next day was revenge and the so called negative energy was propelling me forward. When I got to hope it felt so good to be there, better than it has ever felt before. It seems that sometimes we don't feel all the good we can allow because of some negative thought or feeling that we are trying to avoid or cover up with good feeling thoughts. I think this is what it means to leave yourself behind. When something happens that would make you angry, you choose to focus on the positive and your angry self is left behind.

Just wanted to point out is that somebody did something that I on some level beleived I should react negatively to, but since I was choosing to change my beleifs I chose to find a positive way to deal with this, while I succeeded in convincing my mind of this I left a part of me behind the part that still held this beleif that I should feel bad and it was only when I allowed this part of myself to feel what it was feeling and move forward that I propelled the rest of myself along with it.

Changing our beliefs feels like a multi level experience. First I identify a new belief that I would like to hold , then I choose to practice this new belief by choosing different thoughts. On the intellectual level I accept these new thoughts ( That makes sense.) On another level though I am still holding the old negative beleifs and so as I create dissonance between my new intellectual understanding and my deeper knowing (belief) the contrast between the two becomes bigger and bigger until I cannot avoid the negative belief and it is by using the energy created this way to move me forward that I ride the crest of the wave and let the energy propel me forward and I get to the point where my intellectual understanding and my new beliefs are in harmony

Martika I will do this from now on. Yes negative emotion is such
valuable guidance, surely worthy of appreciation.
Thank you, I knew good things would come out of posting this here

I found a powerful tool to get in touch with my core beliefs today - Appreciating the negative situations in my life
E.g. I asked myself what do I appreciate about overeating?
and I found myself blurting out -
to stop thought
to get more relaxed
to stop the pain that is thinking
on and on and the whole time was so good feeling, like you do when you're releasing.
Healing is hearing.

OMG! Wild! This is exactly what happened to me this week, as I cleaned out some negative emotion / thoughts, I felt the wild power of wanting more, more, more. The anger powered me into a whole new place. It was absolutely exhilarating. It felt like riding a rocket (I posted about it here).
Love,
Christine
