Who is the light of the world except God's Son? This, then, is merely a statement of the truth about yourself. It is the opposite of a statement of pride, of arrogance, or of self-deception. It does not describe the self-concept you have made. It does not refer to any of the characteristics with which you have endowed your idols. It refers to you as you were created by God. It simply states the truth.

Yesterday I had a flashback to being in the Catholic Church (I was watching American Gangster, and they went to church every Sunday). The idea of being unworthy of the creator is such a horrible lie. All those years of being told God will be unhappy with you, you should be afraid of going to hell, ask forgiveness for "sins" -- years of wasted emotional energy and misdirected focus -- it feels so good to live with knowing that you cannot help but be worthy, that there are no mistakes, and that we are actually very important in the whole creation process of bumping around into the future. It's freedom at its best.
