When I initially encountered this I thought I need to go to abetalk and spray this anger out of me. I didn't. Now I will...
Be prepared, this is not life or death. It is not life changing - I guess I probably need to look at it as "my life changing!" I am just pissed and I need a place to piss this out.
Last night in the dark, I pulled in my driveway and thought I was seeing things. :scrming: When we purchased our home, at the entrance to the driveway, on either side was a beautiful big "Century" plant. It kind of resembles a giant succulent or something you would see out in the desert. They bloom once in 100 years and then the plant dies. The one on the left side of the drive did it's bloom a couple of years ago and died. The one on the right still had some life to go.
I put my car in reverse, directed it head on for the Century, turned on my bright lights and confirmed what I had seen. Our lawn man had chopped all of the leaves off. :-x:eek::o:cry::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::(:mad: :puke: Now it looks like a huge baby pine cone sitting on the lawn with two giant stems sticking out of the middle. (I feel like I need to justify to you guys why we have a lawn man - my shit obviously. My primary upstream work has to do with finances and scarcity.)
Anyway, perhaps you folks sitting on the outside of me can see a connection between my scarcity vs abundance issues and this wonderful century years old plant. I may get there if I can .... or when I can.... or -or- or- or- not.
Before even straightening out my car to get into the garage I called Peg and asked, "Were you home when the lawn guys came?" She responds, "Yeah, I saw what they did. But it will be o.k. - it will grow back." She knows I am upset. Whenever anyone has come in to trim back our greenery it is major trauma for me. We have about 1/3 of an acre, lots of privacy provided by all kinds of mature plants and trees and I love it. I had thought perhaps the lawn man had explained to her why this had to be done. However, I can hear she is not going to join me in my rampage of anger, she had earlier told me she was tired and at the grocery store so I didn't want to take her time pissin on the phone, and what the hell makes her think it will grow back. The thing only blooms once every 100 years!
I attempted to engage her again when she came home and it was clear she wasn't bothered by it. It makes me sick!!!!!
I am probably going to call him today and see what the hell inspired his action. God damn it! I think I will type in full caps here - I know you guys can PUT UP WITH MY YELLING!
PEG IS OFTEN INTIMIDATED BY THE THOUGHTS IF WE UPSET THE WORKMEN THAT DO THINGS FOR US THEY MAY NOT COME BACK TO DO OUR WORK AND WE WON'T FIND ANYONE ELSE TO DO IT FOR SUCH A REASONABLE PRICE. GOD DAMN IT! I EXPECT THAT WHEN THEY ARE DOING OUR LAWN IF THEY ARE GOING TO DO ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT OTHER THAN MOWING AND KEEPING THE HEDGES TRIMMED AND CLEANED OF VINES THEY NEED TO ASK US. I HAVE REPEATEDLY SHOWN THIS GUY WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME. -EVEN BROUGHT HIM IN THE HOUSE TO SHOW HIM OUR VIEW FROM OUR FAMILY ROOM AND WHY I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TRIMMED FROM THAT AREA. IT IS WONDERFUL PRIVACY, NICE SHADE PROVISION, AND JUST BEAUTIFUL THE WAY IT GROWS. SO I AM FIGURING THE JERK KNOWS I DON'T WANT THINGS CUT OR TRIMMED UNLESS WE ASK FOR IT. I EVEN WALKED WITH HIM IN THE FRONT YARD TO SHOW HIM THAT WE WANT THE VINE WITH THE HUGE TROPICAL LEAVES TO KEEP GROWING ON THE OAK TREE SO PULEASE, PLEASE STOP TEARING OUT THE VINE FROM THE BOTTOM. SEEMS PRETTY CLEAR TO ME - THE ONLY TIME I HAVE EVER BEEN UNHAPPY WITH HIS WORK IS WHEN THEY HAVE TRIMMED OR TAKEN TOO MUCH.
SO ANYWAY, I WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE CALLING HIM TODAY - I DON'T WANT TO VOMMIT ALL OVER HIM :puke: WITH MY PHONE CALL - BUT DAMN IT - HOW DARE HE TAKE THAT FROM US WITHOUT EXPLANATION OR ASKING!!!!!
