Video of Karen (Ari on the abeforum)

Hi everyone -- last week we received the sad news that forum member by avatar name Ari (Real name = Karen) had transitioned. While looking for any obituary etc. on the internet, (which I did not find), I came across this video from 2006. It gives us a brief insight into her life and the sweet person she was and her life. Thought it would be helpful for us in providing a tribute. I know she made many contributions to my own threads on the abe forum, particularly when I was going through a difficult time and gave me much personalized encouragement, and I felt a special bond towards her. :heart::heart::heart:

Hi Tai:

Absolutely no idea! I was stunned. I only heard about it here on abetalk when I saw it on the top (the chat section).

We had corresponded a bit about some job issues I had....and she was very sweet and encouraging and said she saw a really bright future for me if I just let it in.

She had a lot of threads on her upcoming eviction in the month of July and august. August 7th was her last post on the forum and in it she said that she was going to drive to her son's wedding (on august 8th).

She was very excited about the wedding and on that thread she said two things she was unhappy/sad about.

1. She didn't have any money to dress/do make-up as nicely as she wanted to and

2. She would be meeting her ex-husband after 20 years and she was nervous about that.

A couple of us encouraged her on that thread.

That was it. I thought she would come back from the wedding and join the forum again.

Then I saw her account had been disconnected ('guest status').

I have to confess I was a little hurt and disappointed and a little bit mad because I thought we might stay in touch outside of the abe forum too ...so even if the account was disconnected she might have given me an email address or something.

Then two days later, I read here on abetalk that she had transitioned and I was shocked.

A really, nice kind lady.

I'm a little ashamed of myself for being mad at her for not wanting to keep in touch .... I had no idea this had happened.

Unfortunately, I can't find an obituary or anything on the web.

Do you know who of the Abeforum knew it, and how they knew it? Maybe they know more about how?
Don't beat yourself up for being mad or anything because you thought she didn't want to stay in touch. You had no idea!

I am curious if she did see her son's wedding.

Hi Tai -- No idea who posted on the abe forum about it.

I hope she did see her son's wedding. This was the one big event she was looking forward to. Her last post was on august 7th and she said that the wedding was tomorrow (august 8th) and she was driving down to the wedding.

She had raised him all by herself for the most part, and she was thrilled about this being one milestone in his life. I hope she did get to see it.

FB - have you emailed David or Jody about this? Maybe they know more? I mean, I can imagine people being close to her, like you, wanting to know what happened. And they must understand that as well right?

No. I don't want to ask David/Jody. I'll wait till there's an obituary notice on the web.

It's possible Tranquility on the Abe Forum may know something.

She (?) posted on the 'dedication to jody' thread before me and she had said birthday wishes to jody, and commented on Ari's transition to pure positive energy. I had posted after that with birthday wishes to Jody and asking if I had missed something re: Ari.
The mods deleted our reference to Ari and Jody PM'd me that the mods had decided to not go there (my words). I mentioned to Jody that it might make for a 'lively discussion' on the forum, but that I understood her decision. She said they hoped there were doing the right thing. They hope they get some sense from Ari/Karen on what to do if they decide to do something differently.
I PM'd after a bit, to Jody, that Ari must have helped herself transition - it made the most sense to me on why the mods decided to not let people talk about it. Jody neither affirmed or denied what I thought.

Ari's okay now. No more struggles. Maybe chat with her and see if you feel better in time. We can't know where she was vibing. She was a sweet, wonderful person who really worked the Abe stuff and, I think, helped some of us.

Thanks fb for sharing this information. I felt that Ari was a kind and gentle soul from reading her posts and am glad to know a little more about her. I'm sure she was with Ari at his wedding, physical or not.

Bizarre that they would just try to erase her from the forum by making her a "guest" rather than a member...

SOMEHOW I FEEL CONNECTED TO THIS...i USED TO BE ON THAT FORUM NOV., 2 YEARS AGO...THE NAME DOES SOUND FAMILIAR BUT i CAN NOT PULL OUT AN AVATAR...

No, no. Oprah show lady was Aryana. Aryana is still very much in the physical here.

They both look similar though, now that you mention it.

I didn't know her nor had I heard about her before, but I watched the video and saw her art, and what a beautiful being she was/is !
