What is Google Wave?
Leading-edge technology. It will reinvent email.
It's developed by the team that created Google Maps.
Lots of features that make it better than email. Most important:
1. collaboration. You can use it to create a document live, works more like a Wiki than email, so several people can edit it at once. And it retains a copy of previous files, so you can track how it developed.
2. instant update. People see your message as you type it, character for character. You can use wave as a messaging tool. Because you don't have to wait for them to hit enter, you can already formulate a response before they are done. It's more like real conversation, and speeds up messaging by up to 90%.
Google is releasing it as open-source. They are sold it will benefit society, business, education. They even want other companies to use it to compete with them.
