I don't think anyone who has truly got their message is an 'Aber'(follower) , Abers are the ones that treat it like a church.....but that's their adventure....who am I to judge.
from my own perspective, I have not heard a single quote(in context) from Abraham that does not vibe with me.

I don't mind the name abetalk, because that is the similarity that brought us all together and the way other Abers can come here, too. But I may be biased because I adore Abe's teachings and resonate strongly with them, at least currently (though I can't see how I'd ever not resonate with them).

I think the name should be changed to thoroughly distinguish this forum from that other one. We are not exclusively Abe-based here. That's the beauty of it! We welcome any info that encourages and uplifts and supports our desires to see this world as a place to have fun at whilst everyone else is Phase One-ing and freaking out about illusions.

I don't really expect any changes to be made. I am quite happy with the way it is here. But, if you've got a bug up your ass to tweak it about---and we all get one of those sometimes---you have my thoughts.

You make a good point here Princess. I think for us "seasoned" members when we link what we talk about to Abe it is because we all understand Abe-speak. It is a good basis for communication. But really, I find very little on this Forum that is Abe based. I don't think "we" are tied to Abraham at all anymore.

However you make a good point about guests. Sometimes the cat drags in LOA newbies. Secret-101 students who think this forum might be a fit for them cause of the name. They find out soon enough it is not but I think the name in this case does serve to confuse guests.

11:11 - it would help if you made the little blurb at the top of the page more descriptive for guests. How about:

The members of AbeTalk are freedom-loving explorers and former or current students of Abraham. But mostly we are students of life. Being the explorers that we are - we expand into new areas of thought and discuss anything and everything of interest. Being the freedom-seekers that we are - we have no forum rules. Expansion, exploration and freedom is what we are about. Enter at your own risk.

I agree with all of it except:
4) I don't give a damn about google rankings. This is mainly because I know it is alot more complicated than a name, title and serial number to get good rankings so its probably a waste of time to worry about it.
5) I would prefer we communicate more clearly what AbeTalk is about to anyone who wanders by.

I am NOT proposing we change the name of AbeTalk. When I was talking about making a title change I was refering to an HTML title. It is an identifier on search engines. My apologies to the non-technical. Leave the name AbeTalk alone and change the title, the HTML description which also shows up on search engines and the blurb at the top of the home page. Doing that would communicate more clearly what we are about. I like that.

We dropped the AH name long ago... And what we would like for both guests and members to keep in mind as the core values here is allowing and dialogue, of course, freedom of expression is allowed as well, lol, otherwise we'd be doing the same thing they did to us... but we are sharing ideas here...

I beg to differ Mariposa :heart:. You are talking about the blurb at the top of the home page which is OK but I think could be improved upon. But no biggie. I am talking about something else. If you google Abetalk this is what you will see in the first search listing:
