I have a question...

I always turn my computer off when I end a session. A friend told me she leaves hers running 24/7 because she thinks it harms it to keep turning it on and off.

Must say I have problems with mine, particularly the internet connection.

What do you guys do? On all the time, or on and off?

Leaving a computer running consistenly is NOT a good idea.. a good shut down or restart every now & again is always good.

Me I set my computer to hibernate whenever I close the lid. The hardrive saves whatever programs and data are running and shuts down and when I start it up again it starts back from where I was - as if I never turned it off. Yes it does save on electricity & keeps my computer in good shape.

I also set my monitor to turn off after 10 mins of idle activity.

Thats my belief anyway.. just following what feels good to me!

Me too. If I leave my computer on for more than 6-8 hours, it slllowwws waaaay downnnnn. XD

What about the modem? Do you turn that off as well?

I don't turn my modem off and it works fine.
