View Full Version : What do you think about this?? REALITY

I've been trying to reconcile two contrasting ideas together in my mind for some time now. Now that it's been simmering for a while, perhaps someone would love to offer insight. I'm curious what people think.

When you experience things in life, when you face your fears, when you step into the unknown, you begin to build more reference points on the cause and effect relationships of how the world works. These SELF-EXPERIENCED reference points allow your thoughts to 'STICK' and your beliefs to get stronger. You actually BELIEVE your own beliefs, and they have more weight. You become rooted in your core thoughts, and you are less externally validated or affected. Your emotions are more controlled because these reference points keep you grounded.

Essentially: Your reality becomes stronger. You better know who you are, how people should treat you and what you're entitled to. You can also predict situations and circumstances.

This is apparent before LOA. Any self-help book generally does something of this nature, and encourages biting the bullet and facing fear head on, or at least continually stepping outside your comfort zone.

Even after learning about Law of Attraction, and the ability to BE, DO, or HAVE, one might recognize that all you must do is FEEL GOOD. That much is true.

The part I'm pondering about is that of experience, facing your fears, and gaining a stronger sense of reality through the 'fire' approach.

My dad teaches Tai-Chi and he told me there are two styles of learning, water and fire. Water is where things happen naturally, when they 'should,' and 'fire' is actively putting yourself in uncomfortable situations to build up these reference points.

For me personally, I want a very strong sense of reality. I desire that. I have met many extremely charismatic people, and the one thing they all share in common is the ability to carry their confidence no matter where they are, who they are with and how they are feeling. This is because their very strong sense of realities have so many reference points from all the times that they have failed, that they see the nature of their reality and it is grounded.

THEY HAVE PAID THEIR DUES. THEY EARNED IT. They put forth the effort to face fear and the reward they get is the freedom of stable emotions and thought.

Now obviously this somewhat contradicts LOA. If I desire to have a strong reality, all I must do is ask and it's given.
I can't seem to wrap my mind around this idea however. How can one gain a strong sense of reality without facing fears, without stepping into the unknown, and without paying dues (these things normally associated with NOT 'feeling good' as an Aber might say).

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.

The only possible conclusion that I can come up with, is that by using LOA and focusing on what one wants (a strong reality), he or she would continually practice GRATITUDE and SELF-LOVE. After a long period of this, this reality would be the dominant one, and would seemingly 'bypass' the whole paying dues issue. You would basically get something for nothing (quite unlike most people couldn't do this, because they don't recognize ALL IS WELL, therefore they divert energy from gratitude to things they feel are more important... ie, negative 'controlling' of their environment).

This still though doesn't completely bode with me. I have experienced periods of extreme self love and gratitude, and I will be going strong until something bumps my 'weak' reality, and suddenly my whole train of thought is jarred off course. Even though I KNOW ALL IS WELL.

Say we are talking about entitlement.
Person 1 doesn't know about LOA, but they have approached 1000 women with 'fire' approach. After that, they are so grounded in their own reality that suddenly everything falls into place. They feel entitled to everything because they have failed failed failed, and grew the balls to face their fear.

Person 2 DOES know about LOA, but they haven't paid their dues. They have only approached 1 woman. Suddenly, no matter HOW much 'feeling good' or dream place-mats or whatever he has done, he's not going to feel as entitled as the first guy. He may really feel bliss, but when it comes time to step up I bet he would be thrown far off center where as person 1 would not.

I honestly think the only way to truly get that solidity of thought, that strong reality and ability to experience the diversity of situations in the MOMENT is by failing and facing FEARS.

I feel your identity can be carved out with the TOOL OF FEAR. Only when you experience many things that honestly make you piss your pants in fear can you really possess a mindset which actually BELIEVES on conscious and subconscious levels, rather than just endless jumbles of contradicting thought with not many reference points for your consciousness to grab on to.

This seems to totally go against the grain of abraham, however I can't see any other way around it.
