Since we're talking about other channeled works that have inspired us, I have to talk about "A Course in Miracles,' a channeled work that has impacted me profoundly, as the Abraham teachings.
The message of the Course is like Abraham in that we create our own reality, and we can choose to create a reality, based on love or fear.
Here are my favorite Course in Miracles quotes:
"When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see him you will see yourself. As you treat him you will treat yourself. As you think of him you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him you will find yourself or lose yourself."
- This is Law of Attraction, you get from others what you are predominantly feeling.
"What you see reflects your thinking. And your thinking but reflects your choice of what you want to see."
- This is Law of Attraction, you get what you think about.
"Deep within you is everything that is perfect, ready to radiate through you and out into the world."
- This is Source, if it is allowed.
"To spirit getting is meaningless and giving is all."
- Abraham say there is that which we want and the lack of it. When we are filled with the idea of abundance, we do not get instead we can only give, but when are filled with lack we do not give< instead we take. And wanting, from Abraham's interpretation, is about desire in that we can have more and more; there is no sense of lack. We can only want more, and thus increase more.
"There is a Light in you Which cannot die, Whose Presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of you. All things that live bring gifts to you, and offer them in gratitude and gladness at your feet. The scent of flowers is their gift to you. The waves bow down before you, and the trees extend their arms to shield you from the heat and lay their leaves before you on the ground that you may walk in softness, while the wind sinks to a whisper around your holy head."
- This is who we really are, pure extention of Source.

Steve, thanks for taking the time to put both channeled works together - the one on meeting other people is my favourite, although they are ALL beautiful.
I am a people person, I love people, and imagining them as my mirror has helped me a lot in my Life. When one really gets the above, ''As you see him you will see yourself. As you treat him you will treat yourself. As you think of him you will think of yourself,'' relationships become a real treasure. Sooner or later you start seeing yourself, and therefore others, through the eyes of Source.
That's why I can say ''I love you'' so easily to people I see like that. Feels freaking fantastic!!!!!!

My mom was heavily into ACIM, so she read a lot of passages to me. There is a lot in these teachings that resonate with me, and some things that don't. That's why it's great to have a compilation of the things that make sense to us and moves us. There are a lot of great channels through which we can hear Source's message. I think my love affair with Abe's way will not change any time soon, but I welcome other works as well, such as ACIM. Thanks for sharing, Steve. (May I ask how far you are in the text? Are you doing the daily lessons or just reading when and if you feel like it?)
Oh, and asjairok: I love those avatars! I save all my favorites in a folder, and these went right in there. Hehe.

These are beautiful pictures Anna. They very much go with that Course passage.
That particular passage will always be one of my favorites. It is written so well
and so poetic. I give praise to the Master that shared them.

Yes the holy encounter example is an incredible truth. You really see yourself in how you encounter others. Psychology calls it projection where we project our feelings and thoughts about the world on to the people we meet.
And when we meet others who cause a negative reaction in us then it's more about US than the other person. If we meet someone who makes us feel positive, it's still more about us on how we reacted to this person.
The Course is a gem of wisdom.
And you are a wonderful people person!

I picked up the Course over a decade ago. Much of my understanding of the Course came from a teacher named "Marianne Williamson," who wrote an excellent book entitled, "A Return to Love." Her book documented her experiences with learning from the Course, and how it profoundly changed her. After reading her book, I felt inspired to become a Course student and learn metaphysics.
I've read most of the text over several iterations, and most of the workbook exercises, but I've never officially completed the 365 paged workbook.
The primary message of the Course is about forgiveness and controlling how we percieve reality. It parallels Abraham's message about reducing resistance and controlling our vibration. Yet I do think Abraham's teachings are better suited for learning.
But the Course has been a primer for me on how I understand Abraham's concepts. I don't think I would have gotten the Abraham material down as I do now, if not for the Course. I studied the Course off and on but there were questions I had which the Course could not answer, but Abraham did. So I still recommend the Course in Miracles, but in conjunction with Abraham.

Isn't it just great ? We were ready for Abraham ! Isn't it great how spiritual knowledge goes hand in hand one with another ? :D

Yes, I think we are always attracting the knowledge that would take us to the next step in life, based on what we are ready to hear. It is the basis of Law of Attraction that we attract based on how we feel right now.
I'm sure if I approached Abraham five years ago, I may have not been ready, but the knowledge they could have offered me was always there, but I just wasn't up to sync to receive it.
But now I'm ready, and the more I study the teachings, the more I feel I've opened up Pandora's box to the secrets of the Universe (grin).
And it feels good.

Thanks Tangerine.
If you ever read the text of the Course, it contains some of the most well written text I've ever come across. The writer of the text was well versed in iambic paramater where the wording had a poetic flow.
The Course has a profound way of reminding us of who we really are. We are extensions of Source and often we can forget that, but the journey is to remember.
And when we do, we can never settle for a mediocre life again.
ahhhh... that feels good to think about.

A thought came to me.
The introduction to the Course in Miracles writes:
The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught.
It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's prescence, which is your
natural inheritance.
The teachings of Abraham emphasize releasing resistance which prevent us from allowing Source
which is our natural inheritance.
So both the Course and Abraham say that we are naturally love, which is Source, and our only
work is to allow that state inby releasing resistance, which are negative emotions,
grievances, and any feelings that do not make us feel good.
That I think is the secret to life.

There that saying, "when the student is ready, the master appears."
Dangit! I'm ready! :-)
All the Best,

Me too. Imagine how many rockets of desire we sent out to attract that clarity of knowing?

Hi Anna,
I don't think I mentioned the word alchemy as a field of study.
I have the studied the Course.
The Course is a teaching, which I have always viewed, that can lead
you to God. Since opening up its text I've always had deep admiration
for its wisdom, and the fact the writer of the text is known to have
been Christ.
However over the duration of my study of the Course, I have across stumbling
blocks, and the biggest one being how I choose to study it. The Course can be
Perceived as very intellectural - in fact a little too scholarly - that
we can get up in analyzing things and getting absorbed with the complexities
of the mind, instead of living life with ease.
Abraham's teaching are very simple and concise. Never too intellectual
but very stimulating. I like simplicity.
The introduction of the Course which sums up its teachings by:
The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can
be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's prescence which is your natural inheritance,
As I reflect on how I have practiced the Course, I like to remember that its
aim is to remove the blocks of love presence in my life experience.
Those blocks are negative thoughts that have become part of my psyche,
but I can let them go.
It wasn’t until I understood LOA that I began to see how to let go
of unwanted thoughts, by shifting our attention on something else.
When we do this regularly, we become deliberate creators.
I think there should be a book entitled "A Course in Miracle Deliberate Creation."
