View Full Version : Trusting Channelings?

Hey guys,

I love the Abraham-Hicks books, and am open to the idea of channelings, but I'm a little curious lately because I see postings about several other channelers.

I'm just wondering how you know when a channeling is real and when it isn't. By the beauty of it? The Koran was a channeling through Muhammad, and many Muslims say that if you read it in the original Arabic you'll know it has to be divine.

Then there are Christian channelers that claim to have channeled Jesus and heard his plan to doom others in eternal hell.

And in the Old Testament, Isaiah was a channeler who claimed the omnipotent God was vengeful, wrathful, and angry at his disobeyers.

That's only covering a few monotheist channelers. When you take into account the New Age and Hindu channelers as well, how do you know what to believe? Is it what resonates with you? If that's so, then when the Bible's judgment resonates with a Christian, how's that any less valid? And they can't all be right, because some speak hate and some speak love.

I guess another argument could be that all the channelings are from the subconscious mind, but that doesn't really give anything validity, plus I know there is real magic in the world, wherever it comes from.

Do you guys have any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

Hi Dan,

Anything that comes from Source empowers you and helps you remember that the basis of Life is freedom and that the purpose of Life is joy. That's why you feel GOOD when you are listening to Source, be it through Esther Hicks or anybody else.

Source also doesn't manipulate us in any way.

We are all on our way to remembering our true nature - so, my personal thought on this is that since there is perfect order to everything in the Universe (owing to Universal laws) and ALL is well, every single person is on the right path and is hearing exactly what they are needing to hear right now. We are eternally evolving beings, so we cannot go back to where we were.

I remember when church worked for me and now it doesn't anymore. And there were times when other teachers used to work for me (not literally hehe) and today I am not interested in what they are teaching anymore, as if I've outgrown what they are teaching. So yes, like you say, I'd say, if it resonates with you, if it makes you feel GOOD and is helping you to understand yourself and your life right now, then it's good for you, doesn't matter who's channeling who. I've noticed many people channel some entity with a certain name, but the message is the same as Abraham's, only with a different vocabulary being used, but it still feels like SOURCE.

When I feel empowerment and joy and love and freedom as I am listening to somebody, that's when I KNOW it is coming from Source. That's when I know they are truly connected

I agree with Alex.

Your life experience will direct you to the teaching that best serves you. And it may not even be a channeled teaching. All that matters is that you feel good about it and it is making your life better.

I also try not to say any teaching is ever wrong. Everyone is right from their own frame of view and they should be allowed to express their pont of view on what best serves them.

The ultimate aim of any true spiritual teaching is acceptance where you can accept others for their point of view, and you can accept yours as well. We can all live on this planet and choose what feels best for us. And ideally we would all live happy lives without having to prove others are wrong just to make us feel right.
