I think your forum should consider confirming people's email address first before allowing users to login and participate. That way, people like me (i.e. someone who has no idea who Abraham-Hicks is) won't get random emails in my box telling me someone signed up for this forum with my email. It also means I can't use such information to login, change the password and add lewd remarks to said person's profile

P.S. Maybe you shouldn't include people login info in the confirmation email either.
