Unfortunately I can't access either link you sent, but I do have a question:

Why do you feel the need to share this with us? Are you trying to persuade those that may believe to change?

Personally, I skip over all the stuff that is upstream to me and concentrate on the person of Jesus and how TITITO He is!!

I don't think you offended anyone (you didn't me, anyway). Just thought you might have had a deeper reason to share this.

The stories about Jesus are pretty cool--I think you'd like them!

Mury-

This is a fascinating discussion - thanks for posting it. The blog you quoted makes many good points. I think as leading edge creators, we are always refining our belief systems. I also think large segments of society are doing this as well. Much of the bible simply does not apply to modern sensibilities. I also believe that much of the bible was written as poetry & the mistake that is so often made with it, is that people try to read it & interpret it as prose - to make it more concrete than it was ever intended to be.

The bible is a beautiful mythology that incorporates many historical figures as well as symbolic ones. As with any great epic - it also includes much evil & darkness. Personally, I appreciate the TRADITION of Christianity more than much of the message. For example: I had both of my children christened - not to "save" their souls, but to participate in a long standing family tradition that celebrates their lives. The modern Christian church, especially in my area, is a strong piece of the community. It is about fostering fellowship & family.

Now, having said all of that - I know a few "Atheists". Truthfully, I've never known more angry, bitter people. They have resigned themselves to a hatred of religion & in most cases, any spiritually at all. They push against & it appears to greatly limit their life experience.

So, while the bible has many passages, chapters & over-all messages that I fundamentally disagree with, it has also brought an aspect of enrichment to many, many peoples' lives that cannot be discounted.

I do not think Christianity is on it's last leg, but I do see a change in the Christian church. Some denominations are catching on a little quicker than others. I've even seen several churches that do series on The Secret & I have seen several that have Abe-Hicks groups. It will be interesting to see how the church evolves over the next few years.....

DITTO Adal!

I will add that, in the beginning, religions were created to control the masses (control=no freedom) by keeping them in fear and in the dark. Enlightenment was only for the high priest or priestesses and a selective few because they didn't want people to have any kind of power so they would obey everything they said (control.)

Having said that, religions do have a place in this world, like Adal said, but "thank god" that they are evolving (at least some of them.) I was born catholic, but I always practiced it my own way, incorporating also what worked for me from other religions, alternative religions and philosophies... but all of that was pre-Abe, of course! But I've always really been spiritual, not religious. Now, I KNOW I am god and the only creator of my reality.

I do love and respect all the great enlightened teachers we've had throughout history. I must say that Jesus has a very special place in my reality because of all he did, all he was and still is.

Love is the answer always! The more connected we are, the more love and joy we feel... and that love extends to everything that is, because it is our creation, because it is me/you!

Love

Love is the answer -- always!

It is also the question.

Where is the love? XD

11:11 -

As usual, you are 100% ON.

Where's the love, you ask - but then you & Ron created this place. Oh, yeah - here it is.....

I have to agree with a lot of posters here.

I do think it is up to individual to believe in what makes them feel good and I do think that a lot of religions hold a lot of wisdom, however I don't like the exclusivity of these religions.

I think there are many 'truths' and many paths to the divine (or ways to get aligned) and we must follow the one that feels good to us individually but not look down on those who believe differently.

I don't like how some religions forbid soul searching or questioning because I think the spiritual journey is an important but individual one.

I have met Christians who are blissfully happy and content and accepting of everyone and I have met Christians who seem fearful and unsure and try to convert and convince everyone that come in contact with. I think if you know what feels good for YOU and get aligned through it, you tend to relax and you don't feel the need to try and make everyone around you believe the same thing (pushing against people). I also believe that when you are truly aligned with who you are - no matter what religion you follow - you have no need for fear.

The only hell that exists is that of disconection from Source and the only judgment is that we trow upon ourselves.

I completely agree with this Adal, well said!
